Choice of Waterstop

Precautions:
1. Rubber water stop must not be exposed to open air for a long time, prevent rain 
and do not contact with highly polluting chemicals.
2. Rubber water stop is partly or completely buried in the concrete during the concrete pouring process. 
There are many sharp stones and sharp steel bars in the concrete, because the tear strength of plastic 
and rubber is lower than the tensile strength about 3- 5 times, so once the water stop is punctured or torn, 
the gap will expand without requiring a large external force. 
Therefore, during the positioning of the water stop and the concrete pouring process, 
attention should be paid to the positioning method and pressure to avoid the water band is punctured, 
then affecting the water stop effect. In addition, when the temperature exceeds 70 ºC, 
and the rubber water stop is subject to strong oxidation or organic solvents such as oil, it must not be used.
3. During construction, the rubber water stop must be fixed securely to avoid displacement during the pouring 
of concrete and ensure the correct position of the water stop in the concrete.
4. Common fixing methods: fixing with additional steel bars; fixing with special clamps; 
fixing with lead wire and template. No matter what kind of fixing method is adopted, 
the fixing method of the water stop should be carried out in accordance 
with the construction specifications required by the design. 
It must be ensured that the water stop is positioned accurately, 
does not damage the effective waterproof part of the water stop  and is convenient for concrete pouring.
5. When ordering, the user should calculate the length of the product according to the engineering structure 
and designed drawings. The special-shaped structure need to have a drawing description. 
Try to connect the rubber water stop as a whole in the factory. 
For on-site connection, methods such as vulcanization or cold bonding (rubber water stop) 
or welding (plastic water stop) with electric heating plate can be used.
