Product Description:
Encapsulated O rings, also known as "fluorinated O rings" and "Silicon-coated O rings"
also have "Double-layered O rings".The external use of FEP or PFA special high temperature resistant fluoroplastic,
and internal coated elastic rubber (fluorine rubber/silicone, etc.) Besides, O rings coated with FEP
or PFA have good resistance to swelling and chemical stability (unless they are attacked by alkali metals,
fluorine, and some halogens at high temperatures) and have good elasticity near the rubber O rings.
FEP or PFA has a very low coefficient of friction (only 0.08 to 0.2). Besides,
it has excellent gas permeation resistance.

Fep Core Ring Silicon Rubber Coated Ptfe Material Fep Encapsulated Silicone O rings.
Encapsulated O Rings have an elastomer core which is encapsulated in a jacket of PTFE fluoropolymer.
Typically these are manufactured with FKM or Silicone or EPDM and the cores are FEP or PFA jackets.
Encapsulated O Rings are widely used in the food & beverages industry, pharmaceutical,
and chemical processing, where hygiene and chemical resistance is needed.
As standard O Rings have poor chemical resistance and solid PTFE O Rings don't have the elasticity
for long-term sealing, the choice is the encapsulated O Ring.
PTFE coated encapsulated O-rings are designed to combine the sealing properties of the rubber O-ring
with the chemical resistance of PTFE. They are generally manufactured from FKM or silicone rubber
and are coated in a thin molded layer of PTFE FEP or PFA.
This provides a unique seal popular for high friction and aggressive chemical applications.
FEP encapsulated O-rings are our most common and are resistant to solvents and chemicals
(except for alkaline metals, fluorine and some halogenated compounds at high temperatures).
They have a low coefficient of friction and a very low permeability to gases making them suitable
for harsh environments. PTFE coated encapsulated o-rings also have a good elastomeric memory.
We can also supply rigid PTFE o-rings which have a high compression set.
FEP-encapsulated O-Rings (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene):
